Writer and musician Chris Russell is set to be one of this summer's breakout stars with the release of his debut YA novel, Songs About A Girl, with Hodder Children's Books, July 28.

The first in a trilogy, the novel follows 16 year old aspiring photographer Charlie Bloom as she's thrown into the glitzy celebrity world after going backstage at a concert. Described as 'Geek Girl with boy bands', the novel also has a soundtrack composed by the author. Full of fame, romance, mystery and friendship, Songs About A Girl and its sequels will propel Russell into the YA hall of fame.
